Acupuncture, rooted in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) is an ancient form of medicine that dates back 3000+ years. It involves the insertion of thin, sterile needles into specific body points to regulate the flow of Qi, considered the body's vital energy. Acupuncture works by bringing homeostasis back into the body. Modern biomedical perspectives suggest that acupuncture may stimulate nerves, muscles, and connective tissues, triggering the release of endorphins and influencing neural pathways.

Recognized for its holistic approach, acupuncture operates on a multi-system level, addressing not just localized symptoms but promoting overall well-being and looking deeper to the root cause of illness. Often complemented by modalities such as cupping therapy, gua sha (scraping) and moxibustion (infrared heat therapy). Electro-acupuncture, cosmetic acupuncture, and acupressure can be used in treatment as well.

Widely acclaimed for pain management, acupuncture effectively addresses conditions like back pain, headaches, and joint discomfort. Beyond pain relief, it is sought for stress reduction, anxiety relief, and improving sleep quality. It has applications in women's health, aiding with menstrual issues, fertility, and menopausal symptoms. With its potential to enhance circulation and reduce inflammation, acupuncture is employed for various musculoskeletal conditions, including arthritis and tendonitis.

Marybeth’s practice is driven by a commitment to authenticity, inclusivity, and connection, providing a safe space where everyone feels valued and heard.

My treatments support mental health, digestive and hormonal health, and chronic pain with a trauma-informed approach. I have a special interest in women’s health across various phases, including fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause. Additionally, I enjoy practicing cosmetic acupuncture, which adds an element of fun to my practice while providing a deeply nourishing self-care treatment for you!

My practice focuses on one-on-one care, where each patient receives my full attention. My approach and needling technique are refined to be gentle, ensuring you feel at ease and comfortable throughout the entire treatment.

Outside the clinic, I love adventuring in nature, volunteering, and exploring my passion for design. I honour the traditions of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, and Yoga and acknowledge the unceded territories of the Ktunaxa Nation where I work and live.
